Hello! Happy Halloween weekend!
This week we thought we’d treat you to a round up of all the super spooky makes that have been on offer from those talented creatives this autumn! We’ve been chatting to them about their Halloween collections – we’ve got funky nail art (do people still say funky? I’m rolling with it.); sassy jewellery and pumpkins galore so read on to find out more!
HAND CRAFTED LOVE
First up is Haley of Hand Crafted Love, who creates beautiful ceramic gifts and labels, and whose much loved products are in very high demand! Her Halloween collection is made up of tiny ghosts, bats and pumpkins – each one moulded by hand and therefore holding their own individual character.
This is how she described them to us: “Cute little guys made from clay, which have to be fired twice in my electric kiln. I have made them for several years and they seem to be continuously loved.”
To see more of Haley’s charming makes, and to keep up to date on when she is next selling on her Etsy shop, give her a follow on Instagram @handcraftedlove. But get in quick, those products sell super speedy (can confirm: worth it)!
Next is lovely Amy, a.k.a Confetti Create – maker of fun & joyful polymer earrings and beaded friendship bracelets.
Here’s what she told us: “I love Halloween (any excuse to eat more chocolate right?!) and definitely felt inspired to get in touch with my witchy side when designing this collection. I’m still a big pastel lover so whilst the designs are spooky, they’re still super cute!”
Amy’s earrings are made of polymer clay and come beautifully gift wrapped, and if that isn’t enough, when you purchase the mega cute friendship bracelets below, £1 is donated to Macmillan Cancer Support! (non-spooky choices are also available – we’re talking adorable fruity & floral beads, and personalised with any name!)
LITTLE LUXE CAKES
Little Luxe Cakes is a fairly new business, born out of lockdown – and thank goodness it was! Lilly’s dreamy creations are not only a treat for the taste buds, but are also absolutely magnificent to look at.
This year she was offering Halloween Treat boxes, containing the following:
“2 spooky sugar cookies, 1 chocolate cakesicle, 1 chocolate slab filled with marshmallows and jelly sweet brains, bones and skulls, a solid dark chocolate tomb stone, little grazing treats including chocolate eyeballs, jelly sweets and mini marshmallows”
And you’ll have to agree, they look absolutely mesmerising!
We would absolutely recommend you go and check out her Instagram page (@littleluxecakes) for a browse of her beautiful creations!
YAY RAE FLAY
Some more jewellery now – we had a chat to brilliant laser cutting wizz Rae, who makes fancy fun acrylic accessories.
Here’s what she told us:
“Yay Rae Flay is a flamboyant laser cut jewellery brand based in Bristol.
My capsule Halloween earring collection consists of fully articulated mermaid skeletons, iridescent cobwebs and a special colour edition of the Zero Waste Earring Kit. Each piece has been thoughtfully designed to be worn beyond the spooky holiday season.“
JELLY JAM ELLIE
Next up: pumpkins!
Ellie sews up lush bags made from vintage fabrics, and uses scraps to make these precious lil guys!
“My pumpkins are made from leftover pieces of vintage fabric I use for making bags. I save them up all year and come September start turning them into pumpkins. As the fabric is all vintage, they have a lovely soft texture and are all slightly different. They are finished off with real twig stalks and a splash of pumpkin spice fragrance! This is the third year I’ve made them and some customers are coming back annually to top up their collection. I’ve loved seeing their displays on Instagram on mantle pieces, ‘shelfies’ and in glass domes.”
What a cool way to use up waste – I love that each one is different, and the scent is such a good touch!
Birmingham based beauty salon ‘Nails Bab’ have been wowing us this month with their AMAZING themed manicures.
Never underestimate the power a fresh mani possesses – a sure-fire way to get you feeling yourself, so why the hell not go a step further and get yourself some art on your fingertips?!
Now for some beauuuutiful silver pieces, by Harriet at Eightfourteen Silver!
“All of my creations are handmade from sterling silver. I use the traditional method of saw piercing to cut out the spooky shapes, which involves drilling a tiny hole into the sheet of metal, and then feeding a very fine saw blade through. Sawing out each ghost by hand means that each one is slightly different, and has its own cute character.”
Just look at their jolly little faces!
Harriet combines exciting alternative methods with traditional silversmithing techniques in her studio in Staffordshire. Her portfolio can be found at eightfourteensilver.com, and shop over on Folksy. Keep up to date by following along on Instagram @eightfourteensilver!
CLOTH & CANDY
FABULOUS online fabric and haberdashery store Cloth & Candy, offers a huge selection of printed materials and extras. Owner Fuz is also an utter pattern matching genius!
Lets have a peek at some of the pieces available in this year’s Halloween collection!
This charming print is a mid-weight cotton called Cast a Spell – “a sweet vintage-style floral with cobwebs and tiny hidden spiders.”
And as for those fabby pom poms: “Brilliantly coloured Halloweeny poms to use in all sorts of spooky crafts. There are super bright neon orange ones in there too!”
We love this mid-weight cotton Pick-A-Boo print – perfect for any spooky project!
“This is just the best Halloween print ever right? Such cute ghosties… SO MUCH FUN.”
We hope her selection gets you feeling as inspired to get making as it does us! All fabrics shown here are linked, but do check out the rest of Fuz’s store at clothandcandy.co.uk, and follow in Instagram @clothandcandy for updates on what is coming in stock!
FAT POM POMS
So, on the topic of pom poms (I wish that was always the topic…), lets move on to Jess over at Fat Pom Poms!
Brilliant creator of magnificent bright and fun accessories, Jess, graced us with some absolute stunners this Halloween!
“This year I decided to bring favourites back from previous years such as the ghost pom poms and the eyeballs, but give them a new colour twist! The pastel tie dye has been a firm favourite this year from my customers.”
“I also had an amazing custom order to make Frankenstein’s monsters just from a pom pom! It was a real challenge but it’s my personal favourite from this year’s Halloween makes.”
My brain cannot even begin to comprehend how that is even done!? I’ve only just learned how to make a two-tone pom pom and even that blows my mind…
So last, but by no means least, we’ve got Holly from HollyEdwardsTextiles! Remember her Creative Q&A from back in August? Have a read here!
